Common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina). Pentax *istD, SMC Pentax-M 85mm f:2.0 lens. Up at the cottage when a pair of Common snapping turtles (Chelydra serpentina) appeared near the dock. The larger of the two had a carapace 18″ long, the smaller one’s carapace was about 15″.
